I am sorry for the confusion. The manufacture does not pack the foils in with the guitarlift. They have sent us several and we can ship you out a pack of four if you wish. We would like to warn you that the adhesive they use is very strong and might cause damage to your guitar if you try to remove them. Please let me know if you would like them. There is no charge to you.

This text is taken directly from GuitarLift's mounting instructions-

"The adjustment is very simple: First, find a suitable position for your Guitarlift at the bottom of your guitar. Then mount the suction cups as close to the edge als possible. This increases the stability and allows more vibration of the bottom.

Suction cups:
Suction cups stick only on smooth lacquered and dust-free surfaces.
On satin-varnished or damaged lacquers it will be necessary to use the supplied foil pads. To care rinse the cups with clear water and then wipe with a microfiber cloth.
The company Guitarlift is not liable for any traces of suction cups and foil pads on your guitar.
To apply the foil pads please note the following photos.
Hint: You do not have to press hard to attach the suction cups, a gentle pressure will do."

So yes, the support should work with a satin finish but there is some possibility that finish damage could occur; the likelihood is probably low but the user will need to use discretion and monitor their instrument's finish.
