Full, clear, clean sound for a good price
Review by Michael B. on 20 Jun 2025 review stating Full, clear, clean sound for a good price Hannabach 600HTG3C. Very happy with these strings. Sound is full, clean, and medium-bright. They have a very clean and blemish-free look and feel to them. High e and b are nylon and the g is "carbon" (fluorocarbon). I used to be indifferent to the carbon g idea, but after playing these I really do hear the benefit in the transition from bass to treble (both in sound and feel). The bass strings are silver-plated and have a very nice feel to them, smoother than I expected, with very little squeak.
If you check the Hannabach website, there is more information about these strings being nickel-free (look up 'DIN EN 1811' and 'REACH regulation VO (EG) No. 1907/2006'). While originally I was going to rate these strings 4 stars, after researching about the nickel, I decided to give 5 stars because I haven't seen this compliance advertised on other strings, and had been wondering about the long-term effects of touching metal strings and how do we know that our strings are being made with skin-safe materials (we spend a lot of time touching these).
My only critique is that the bass strings were not precisely labeled, so I had to guess at which one was the E vs. the D (only A was labeled). Fairly easy to guess because the diameter is slightly different. . . but I would rather not have to guess. For ~ 2 bucks a string, very happy with these.
