Oasis GPX+ Carbon NT Classical Guitar Strings, Treble Set

Perfect product, perfect service.

I've used these for many years. I really like the smaller diameter 3rd string because of how it feels under the fingers. The sound of these strings are very sweet. I mix them with Daddario basses and they blend very well. After 20 yrs, I see no reason to change. I've already strung them up on my guitar and will be ordering again soon.

The first set of GPX+ I got was phenomenal in terms of sound and lasted me for 6 months without any degradation of sound quality. I was amazed and immediately ordered two more sets. The first one I had to discard because it felt MHT, not MT, and 1st string intonated flat at 12th fret. The second one had the same intonation issue but even worse, again 1st string. As a test, I replaced the faulty 1st string with an Oasis Regency MHT to check the tension. What do you think - it felt no different than the supposedly Med tension GPX, which confirmed my feeling of a tension problem. Moreover, the new Oasis MT Sostenuto bass set had the same hard tension feel and I had to take it down in 2 weeks, despite generally good sound, just because I was getting concerned about my joints. The next set I put on (from a different brand I use regularly) felt much as usual, so something in the Oasis strings has changed. I considered sending them a specimen of these odd sets but soon figured that the postage from where I live will cost me as much as a new treble set, so it makes no economic sense. Oasis, get your quality control right!

Great sound. Bright, loud, while being full and round at the same time. I became concerned however when I read about many people having their high E snap on them, creating dents in their guitar. When I looked at the high E toward the bridge, I noticed some sort of stretch marks as if the string could snap any moment. I then took off the string, clipped off the part with the marks, then restrung it again. The same stretch marks developed IMMEDIATELY after I tuned the string again. Needless to say, I removed the string immediately and threw it in the garbage.* The other 2 strings however are in great condition, and still sound great after a few weeks. I heard the higher tension has a less chance of snapping, but I won't bother anymore with OASIS. I will probably try a different carbon treble at high tension, since medium carbon trebles seem to be really thin and perhaps prone to snapping.
